Voters of Menzies is made up of people within the electorate of Menzies who wish to ensure that we get an MP elected to Federal Parliament who listens to and is responsive to the community’s concerns. We are a non-profit organization run by volunteers and we use crowd funding to support an independent political candidate aligned to our values.

• We believe in the “Australian Fair go” for everyone.

• We believe in the expertise of our scientists in our universities and research institutes, as a result, we accept the existence of human induced global heating. The planet is now dangerously warming and if we do not address the issue of rising temperatures, which are leading to the changing circulation of ocean currents and the jet stream, the very existence of today’s civilization and human lives will be seriously threatened by heat waves, typhoons, electrical storms, violent hail and rainstorms, riverine flooding, sea surges, drought and bushfires. Not to mention the ecocide that human beings are causing with our ever-growing numbers, currently at 8 billion persons.

• We also believe in the necessity for government transparency and accountability to keep our politicians honest. National security and commercial in confidence have been used far too often as excuses for keeping the public in the dark.

• The two established political parties, Liberal and Labor, have ceased to represent the interests of either their members or their voting base. Instead, they now work in the interests of their major donors. The mining companies, oil & gas companies, the big 4 banks, the hotels association, casinos, the property developers etc..

As concerned Australians we cannot stand on the sidelines and let climate science denial and vested interests delay meaningful action on climate change. We must act for the sake of our children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and generations yet unborn.

Please volunteer your time and skills to get a community independent elected instead of just another party hack who votes as he/she is told by the party whip. Independents consider each bill and vote according to the values and views expressed by their community. They truly are our voice in the Federal Parliament.
